Summer Legal Internship
The intern will expect an enjoyable and educational experience learning about criminal law, the courts, and the role the District Attorney plays as advocate for the People. Will become acquainted with many of the prosecutors and staff in Office. Involved in a wide variety of cases, both misdemeanor and felony. Drafting motions and memoranda of points and authorities, conducting research on complicated legal issues, and, if certified, arguing the People s position in the courtroom. Observe ongoing trials to learn about the criminal justice system and gain better insight into what it is like to be a prosecutor. Ultimately, may have the opportunity to conduct a jury trial in a misdemeanor case.
