A mid-sized, well-established, full-service law firm is seeking an attorney to join its intellectualproperty department in Palo Alto. Candidate will conduct patent-mining and patent-brainstorming with client product teams. Candidate will be involved in conduct disclosure meetings with clients for new patent applications and draft and file original patent applications. In this role, the candidate will conduct examiner interviews, draft responses to office actions and handle all other aspects of patent prosecution from filing to issuance. Candidate will be given the responsibility to supervise others, including patent attorneys and patent agents, on all the preceding; and advising clients on strategic patent-portfolio development and management. Requirements:
- 4-6 years of patent-prosecution experience.
- Should have an undergraduate or advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering and a high level of academic achievement at an accredited law school.
- Must be licensed to practice law in California, have a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registration number, and have experience working in the IP department of a comparable law firm.
- Experience in patent litigation or PTAB trials is a plus.
